WIKE

June 14, (THEWILL) – A 16-member committee set up by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, may have chosen Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as vice presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general election, even as the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said he will make the final decision when he returns from his trip abroad.

The development followed Wike’s emergence as a top contender and winner of an election conducted by a committee set up by the party to choose a running mate for its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

THEWILL gathered that the 16-member committee voted 13 – 3 in favour of the Wike.
