Umaru Musa Yar’Adua

May 05, (THEWILL) – Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described the late ex-President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, as an exemplary leader who lived above prejudice and was fair to all.

Yar’Adua, who was sworn in as Nigeria’s President on 29th May 2007, died in office on May 5, 2010.

Jonathan was Vice President to the late Yar’Adua. Remembering his memory 13 years after his death, Jonathan, in a Facebook post, said his former boss was a man of peace, justice and accountability.

He wrote: “Our nation lost a great and selfless leader, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He was a man of peace, justice and accountability.

“We look back with appreciation to God for his time on earth and the impact of his leadership on our nation.

“President Yar’Adua was an exemplary leader who lived above prejudice and was fair to all. His public life inspired many positively. I always recall with fondness the pleasant experience of working with him as my boss.

“Today, we remember him for his life of selfless service, dedication and commitment to a united and prosperous nation.

“We will continue to remember him for his developmental strides and his commitment to the peace and progress of Nigeria.”
