June 02, (THEWILL) — Zedcrest has expanded its footprint in Africa’s financial services industry with the launch of a dedicated investment banking business, positioning itself to tap growing demand for capital raising, infrastructure financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory services across the continent.

The new offering, which will operate through Zedcrest Group, marks a significant step for the firm as it expands beyond traditional financial services into a full-spectrum capital solutions platform.

The expansion comes at a time when African economies are seeking trillions of naira and billions of dollars in long-term financing to fund infrastructure projects, industrial expansion, energy development, telecommunications growth, and public-sector investments. Despite the opportunities, many businesses and governments continue to face challenges accessing capital and structuring complex transactions.

To address these gaps, Zedcrest said its investment banking platform will focus on three key business lines: Capital Markets, Financial Advisory, and Project & Structured Finance.

Under its Capital Markets division, the firm will advise clients on equity and debt fundraising transactions, including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), rights issues, private placements, commercial papers, and bond issuances. The objective is to help institutions raise capital efficiently while strengthening balance sheets and supporting expansion plans.

Its Financial Advisory unit will provide services covering mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate restructuring, private equity fundraising, and valuation advisory.

Meanwhile, the Project & Structured Finance arm will focus on arranging funding for large-scale infrastructure, energy, and other capital-intensive projects, including refinancing transactions and development finance institution-backed funding structures.

According to the Group Managing Director of Zedcrest, Adedayo Amzat, the launch reflects a growing need for sophisticated financial solutions as African economies pursue long-term growth and transformation.

He noted that businesses, governments, and development institutions increasingly require specialist advisory and financing support to execute strategic projects and unlock investment opportunities.

The new platform will target key sectors including energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, and the public sector, strengthening Zedcrest’s role in connecting capital with investment opportunities across Africa.
