December 10, (THEWILL) – Former Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bolanle Gbeleyi, on Tuesday, expressed his belief that Governor Dapo Abiodun’s N1.055 trillion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year would bring substantial infrastructural development to the state.

Abiodun presented an appropriation bill of N1,054,542,020,147.47 to lawmakers at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital, last Wednesday.

Tagged the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” the budget prioritizes healthcare, housing, security, education, youth empowerment, job creation, and agriculture, with infrastructure absorbing a significant N284.456 billion, or 27% of the total budget.

The deputy speaker, who served the Ado-Odo/Igbesa State Constituency between 1999 and 2003, praised the governor’s vision for infrastructural growth.

He remarked, “With the substantial allocation for infrastructure in the 2025 budget, there’s no doubt that Governor Abiodun intends to leave an enduring legacy for the people of Ogun State.

Every government aims to establish a legacy of monumental projects that will serve as a testament to their term in office.”

Gbeleyi emphasised that such investments are crucial for sustainable development and would positively impact the lives of the residents, showcasing the governor’s commitment to advancing the state’s socio-economic landscape.
