July 31, (THEWILL) — The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Benjamin Omale, has dismissed the insinuation that the presence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties would pose a threat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue and Nigeria at large in the 2027 general election.
According to Dr Omale, given the quantum of infrastructural development posted by the Alia administration within record time since the creation of Benue State, the ADC and the crisis-ridden People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would lack words to convince the electorate to their advantage at the polls in 2027.
Fielding questions from newsmen at the party secretariat in Makurdi on Wednesday, Omale noted that the President Bola Tinubu administration’s policy on economic reforms, improved security situation across the country has endeared Nigerians to his administration.
The APC Unity Committee chairman insists that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President is manifesting practically in Benue State, as seen in his visit and a follow-up by his wife to condole and cushion the effect of the attack on Yelwata community in Guma local Government area by terrorists in the recent past.
Responding to a question, Dr Omale, said former president of the Senate, David Mark, is not an issue in Benue politics any more, arguing that Oturkpo town is worse for it when it rains even with his presence.
Speaking further, Omale posited that APC under him is carrying all stakeholders along in the scheme of things, explaining that monies realised from the sales of forms, certain percentages go to the State, zonal and national secretariat of the party as defined in its constitution.
“We have some committees whose members are involved and have a cordial working relationship with my Caretaker Committee members, not running a one-man show in Benue APC”, Omale emphasised.
He informed that he attended NEC twice as the authentic chairman from Benue State, where Mr President, national chairman, National Working Committee members were in attendance, saying APC is highly structured and on ground in Benue State, calling on people to disregard the antics of opposition elements out for their selfish interest.
The APC chairman noted that Governor Alia is doing the Benue people’s will and does not require distraction from any quarters, pointing out that the administration has Gubernatorial Liaison Officers (GLO), 23 Council chairmen, and will improve in providing dividends of democracy in the course of time.
He, therefore, called on the media to ensure adequate publicity of projects and programmes of the APC-led government at all levels for Nigerians to know and appreciate it.
