2027: Akwa Ibom Council Chairman Nkutt Rallies Support For Tinubu, Others

March 13, (THEWILL) — The Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Ubong Nkutt, on Thursday, rallied political stakeholders and supporters in Itu to mobilise grassroots backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno; and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Nkutt made the call during his inauguration as Coordinator of the Itu Chapter of the ARISE With Renewed Hope Initiative, a political mobilisation platform aimed at strengthening support structures across communities.

The event, which formally launched the initiative in Itu Local Government Area, attracted political leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across the area.

In his acceptance speech, Nkutt thanked the leadership of the initiative for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with members of the executive committee to deepen grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the initiative’s structure in the area.

He also commended Governor Umo Eno for development projects in Itu Local Government Area, noting that the people remain appreciative of the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and people-oriented governance.

Other officials inaugurated alongside the coordinator include Rt. Hon. Emem Ekpanya as Deputy Coordinator, Hon. Idongesit Ituen as Secretary, Hon. Deborah Ekpe as Woman Leader, Ubong Ndayongmong as Youth Leader and Andem Andem as Treasurer, among others.

The Itu Local Government Advisory Committee of the initiative was also inaugurated, with Rt. Hon. Dr Ekaette Ebong Okon as Chairman and Akparawa James Edet as Secretary.

Earlier, the International Coordinator of the initiative, Sir Udo Kierian Akpan, urged stakeholders in Itu to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen political structures capable of delivering electoral victories for supported candidates.

Similarly, the President General of the initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, said the platform was designed to consolidate political unity and deepen community-level engagement in support of President Tinubu, Governor Eno and Senate President Akpabio.

Goodwill messages were delivered by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kufre Edidem; the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Henry Archibong; the Vice Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University, Prof. Otoabasi Akpan; and former Secretary to the State Government, Obonganwan Grace Ekong.
