January 13, (THEWILL) — The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, concluded a marathon stakeholders’ meeting, emphasizing the critical need to strengthen the ongoing e-registration of party members as a strategic step toward the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place at the Kano APC Secretariat, focused on the importance of building a comprehensive and verifiable digital membership database.
Stakeholders highlighted that a credible register is vital for enhancing electoral performance and ensuring internal party democracy.
Following briefings from the State APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, and the Kano e-registration coordinator, Shafi’u Darma, the party resolved to maximize its grassroots support by ensuring every loyalist is officially captured.
In his remarks, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, stressed the need for peace and unity within the fold.
He noted that political cohesion is essential for achieving the party’s objectives and consolidating its position as the largest political force in Africa.
The stakeholders further urged members to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, linking the success of local registration to the broader national development goals.
The meeting was chaired by the former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and attended by several high-profile figures, including Senator Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila (Kano South), Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Hon. Kabir Abubakar Bichi, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, and Hon. Murtala Sule Garo.
Also in attendance were Ministers of State Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Housing) and Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure (FCT), as well as former Minister Alhaji Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo.
The stakeholders recommended extended mobilization meetings at the ward and local government levels to ensure no eligible member is left unregistered before the January 30, 2026, national deadline.
The meeting concluded with a renewed call for total participation, with leaders expressing confidence that a successful digital drive in Kano would set the pace for an APC victory in 2027.
