May 12, (THEWILL) — The ruling All Progressives Congress has reaffirmed that the dates earlier announced for its 2027 primary elections remain unchanged, with the House of Representatives primary election scheduled to hold on Friday, May 15, 2026.
In a clarification issued by the party, the APC directed aspirants, party officials, and stakeholders to continue to rely on the revised timetable and schedule of activities earlier released on May 4, 2026, stressing that there has been no adjustment to the approved dates for the primaries.
According to the timetable, the House of Representatives primary election will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary election is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
The State House of Assembly primary will hold on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, followed by the Governorship primary on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The Presidential primary election is expected to be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The reaffirmation comes amid growing political consultations and mobilisation within the APC as aspirants intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Under the revised timetable, the party fixed Wednesday, May 6, 2026, for the commencement of the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. Submission of completed forms and accompanying documents is expected to close on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The APC also scheduled the screening of aspirants for all elective positions between Friday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 12, 2026, while publication of screening results is fixed for Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Screening appeals are expected to take place between Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Following the conduct of the primaries, election appeals for the different offices are scheduled to commence on Monday, May 18, 2026, and conclude on Monday, May 25, 2026, after the presidential appeal process.
Details contained in the revised timetable show that aspirants for the House of Representatives are expected to pay N10 million for nomination and expression of interest forms, while Senate aspirants are to pay N20 million.
Governorship aspirants are expected to pay N50 million, while the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms will cost N100 million. State House of Assembly aspirants are expected to pay N6 million.
The party, however, stated that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities would only pay for the expression of interest forms and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fees for their respective positions.
The revised timetable was signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who urged party members and aspirants to adhere strictly to the approved schedule as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 elections.
