With the theme “Total Wellness: Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous Lifestyle,” the programme underscores the importance of improving the overall well-being of senior citizens.

Mrs. Nwifuru announced that the governing board of the Renewed Hope Initiative had increased the grant from N100,000 to N200,000 this year to provide more robust support to the elderly during the festive season.

She said 250 beneficiaries in Ebonyi have also been enrolled into the state health insurance programme under her pet project, Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation.

“Each state of the federation, including the FCT, has received N50 million to facilitate the distribution of the N200,000 grant to individual beneficiaries,” she stated.

A total of N1.9 billion will be disbursed across Nigeria to support the elderly. In addition to the financial aid, beneficiaries will also receive free medical check-ups and other wellness items.

Mrs. Tinubu commended the efforts of the RHI coordinators, state first ladies, and partners in making the programme a success.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Mrs. Nwifuru urged the senior citizens to prioritize their health as they celebrate the festive season.

“Eat well, stay hydrated, engage in light exercises like walking, and get adequate rest. Spend quality time with loved ones, do what makes you happy, and enjoy the festivities,” she advised.
