In the exercise held on Monday at Katsina-Ala for Benue North East and Makurdi for Benue North West, senator Gabriel Suswam was returned unopposed with 250 votes just like his counterpart, Samuel Ortom, who will fly the PDP flag next year.

In the House of representatives contest, the PDP ‘consensus’ arrangement suffered some setback as the member representing Ado, Ogbadibo, Okpokwu in the House of representatives, Francis Otta Agbo, lost his return bid to Barr Aida Ogwuche Nath.

Others are Jimin Sokpo, representing Buruku federal constituency, who lost to Mr Terkaa Agba, while representative Mark Gbillah of Gwer/Gwer West federal constituency, lost his third term agenda to Mr Terkaa Ukaa, during the PDP primary election exercise.

This development is sending a warning signals to the leadership of peoples Democratic Party in the state over the said gubernatorial ‘consensus’ arrangement which the Speaker of the Benue state house of assembly and member, representing Kyan state constituency, Mr Titus Uba was endorsed as the candidate of the party ahead of Primaries.

Already, some PDP governorship aspirants including Dr Paul Angya, Mr Terkaa Ucha, Mrs Susan Waya, Engr Akaaka, among others have distanced themselves from the said ‘consensus’, calling on delegates to vote for them during the Wednesday’s party primaries holding at Aper Aku township stadium, Makurdi.
