Abducted Plateau Lawmaker Regains Freedom

September 24, (THEWILL) — The lawmaker representing Pankshin South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Laven Denty Jacob, has regained his freedom from abductors.

THEWILL earlier reported that Jacob was seized on Monday night at the entrance of his residence in the Angwan Kaji area of Dong, Jos North Local Government Area.

Confirming his release on Wednesday, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Kwarpo Sylvanus, said Jacob was freed on Tuesday night and has since reunited with his family.

“He has been successfully released, but we are yet to ascertain whether any ransom was paid. All we know is that he was released last night,” Sylvanus stated, adding that the lawmaker returned in good health.

He commended the swift response of security agencies and concerned citizens, while urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities.
