April 13, (THEWILL)- Three undergraduate students of the University of Calabar, who were abducted about three weeks ago, have been released.
The abducted students are Dickson Oluwadamilola Ayomide of Genetics and Biotechnology, Ojang Precious Ebijin of Medicine and Surgery and Ugwu Chukwuemeka, also of the Genetics and Biotechnology departments of the University.
The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the release of three abducted students of the University of Calabar.
Irene Ugbo, the Police Public Relations Officer said the students were released some hours ago.
She, however, did not clarify the circumstances in which the students were released.
About two weeks ago, suspected kidnappers abducted three undergraduates at the Freedom Hostel of the University of Calabar.
The kidnappers usually take advantage of the Esuk Orok River which adjourns the institution and is largely unsecured.
Several staff and students of the institution have fallen victim to the kidnappers in recent times.
