SAN FRANCISCO, September 01, (THEWILL) – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo met with President Goodluck Jonathan in a closed door meeting at the State House, Abuja on Sunday.
The visit of the former president, who was absent at the special national convention of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which held on Saturday, is believed to have been in connection with the crisis rocking the party, especially the breaking away of a faction led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, THEWILL can report.
Though details of the meeting which held over lunch were not made known, the parley was preceded by a worship session in which Obasanjo, Jonathan and his wife, Patience, converged on the Aso Villa Chapel, with the visiting President of Benin Republic, Boni Yayi for a Sunday service.
At the end of the service, they all moved to the children’s church from where they proceeded, along with the Chief of Staff to the President, Mike Ogiadomhe, to the President’s residence.
