November 24, (THEWILL) — Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has extended transformative support to the KNOSK 100-Naira-A-Day Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja, marking a major milestone in corporate backing for the innovative low-fee institution.
The airline donated ₦10 million to boost the school’s digital learning infrastructure and widen access for underserved children.
The intervention includes 20 full-year scholarships for students unable to afford the ₦240,000 annual fee and 10 new laptops valued at ₦5 million to strengthen the school’s ICT laboratory as it works to establish a fully equipped Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.
Founded in 2019 with only 30 students, KNOSK now serves more than 180 children—many from families who struggle to contribute even the symbolic ₦100 daily tuition.
Despite these constraints, the school has achieved remarkable results, including a 100 per cent WAEC pass rate for its first graduating class and several students scoring above 200 in JAMB.
Air Peace’s intervention comes at a crucial moment, as Nigeria accelerates its transition to CBT-based examinations.
The school’s management described the donation as “historic,” noting that while KNOSK has previously benefited from foreign missions, no major Nigerian corporate organisation had ever provided direct support until now.
Representing the airline, Communications Analyst Hawa Oyinloye Alege praised the determination and resilience of the students.
“We are deeply proud to support this remarkable project—a place where hope, hard work and persistence shine through every day.
“These children continue to dream boldly despite their challenges, and we look forward to seeing them achieve extraordinary things,” she said.
The students, moved by the gesture, expressed their gratitude.
SS3 student Patience Omuata, one of the scholarship beneficiaries, said the donation had changed lives.
“Our parents might not be able to afford the fees, but Air Peace has given 20 of us the gift of education. On behalf of KNOSK students, we thank Mr. Allen Onyema for being a father to children like us,” she said.
For SS1 student Vivian Odizwe, the laptops are a pathway to future readiness.
“With WAEC likely moving fully to CBT soon, the school needed 40 laptops. Air Peace has helped us get much closer to that goal. Now we can practise, write exams and develop digital skills. We are truly grateful,” she said.
Co-founder of KNOSK, Mr. Kingsley Bangwell, described the partnership as a significant turning point.
“We have received support from Ireland, Finland and the United States, but never from a major Nigerian corporate body. This is not just financial support—it is validation.
“These children came in struggling to read and write. Today, they are earning distinctions. Air Peace has become part of their story,” he said.
His wife and co-founder, Mrs. Irene Bangwell, added that Air Peace Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, represents a symbol of courage and enterprise for the students, serving as a real-life model of boldness and resilience.
The initiative aligns with Air Peace’s longstanding humanitarian footprint—from evacuating stranded Nigerians to supporting vulnerable communities nationwide.
Earlier this year, during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, the airline partnered with Raising Star Africa to empower children living with disabilities through educational support and meaningful grants.
