February 16, (THEWILL) – Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, has commended the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority for its commitment to safety regulations, stating that the agency’s oversight has significantly contributed to the excellent safety records of Nigerian airlines.
Speaking at the NCAA’s 25th Anniversary Symposium held in Abuja on Saturday, Onyema described the NCAA as one of the most effective and safety-focused civil aviation regulators in the world.
“Unlike other parts of the world, including Europe, America, and Asia, the NCAA’s oversight is both thorough and uniquely safety-centric,” Onyema said.
He emphasized that Nigeria must recognize the major strides made in aviation, particularly in positioning the country as a key player in **global civil aviation
According to him, the transformation witnessed in the industry is largely due to the leadership of the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo (SAN), whose commitment and innovative approach have driven policy reforms and infrastructural advancements
“Under the leadership of the Honourable Minister, we have seen a transformative period in the aviation sector. His unwavering dedication has ushered in significant progress, from aviation policies to infrastructural developments. The sector is experiencing a remarkable revolution,” Onyema stated.
He also praised the Director-General of the NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, for streamlining regulatory processes, improving the ease of doing business, and maintaining the highest safety standards
“For the first time in two decades, all Nigerian airlines have come together to acknowledge the positive changes. Airlines now recognize a new era of safety and operational excellence, with no compromise on high standards. The NCAA has not only remained responsive but has managed to balance its oversight responsibilities with efficiency and professionalism,” he said.
Reaffirming Air Peace’s commitment to supporting the industry’s growth, Onyema lauded both the NCAA and the Minister of Aviation for their contributions to the sector’s progress.
