June 17, (THEWILL) — Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has announced a major expansion of its domestic flight operations with increased frequencies and expanded seat capacity across key routes nationwide, in a move aimed at meeting rising passenger demand and improving connectivity across the country.
The airline said the revised schedule, which takes effect from June 22, forms part of its Summer/Winter 2026 operational plan and reflects its commitment to offering passengers greater flexibility, more convenient travel options and improved access to destinations within Nigeria.
According to the airline, the expansion comes in response to increasing travel demand during the peak summer season, with the additional flights expected to strengthen transportation links between major commercial centres and regional cities while supporting economic activities nationwide.
Under the revised schedule, several high-demand domestic routes will witness significant increases in flight frequencies, particularly along some of Nigeria’s busiest air corridors.
Air Peace disclosed that the Lagos-Abuja route will now operate up to seven daily flights, making it one of the airline’s busiest and most strategically important routes within its domestic network.
The Lagos-Owerri route will operate up to four daily flights, while Lagos-Asaba will see up to three daily flights.
Other routes receiving expanded frequencies include Lagos-Benin, Lagos-Warri and Lagos-Enugu, each operating up to two daily flights.
Beyond Lagos operations, the airline also announced stronger regional connectivity with Abuja-Owerri and Abuja-Asaba routes increasing to two daily flights each.
The carrier explained that the expanded operations will be supported by its fleet of modern next-generation aircraft, a move expected to improve passenger comfort, operational efficiency and increase available seat capacity across the network.
Commenting on the development, Air Peace management said the additional frequencies were introduced strategically to accommodate rising travel demand while delivering improved customer experience.
“As travel demand continues to rise during the summer season, we are strategically increasing capacity and frequencies on key domestic routes to better serve our customers. These additional flights will provide greater flexibility, improved travel options and more convenient schedules for both business and leisure travellers at very affordable fares”, the airline said.
The management added that the airline remains focused on connecting people, businesses and communities while maintaining a superior travel experience backed by safety, reliability and affordability.
According to Air Peace, the expanded domestic schedule will further strengthen connectivity between Nigeria’s major economic and regional centres, while supporting business growth, trade, tourism and national integration.
