August 23, (THEWILL) — Air Peace Limited has received its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft, further consolidating its status as West and Central Africa’s largest carrier and deepening its international expansion plans.

The Boeing 777-200ER, with registration 5N-CEG, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:32 p.m. from Teruel, Spain.

It was welcomed with a traditional water-cannon salute and a reception led by the airline’s Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema; Executive Director, Obinna Onyema; Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide; and other members of the management team.

Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, said the arrival of the wide-body jet aligns with the airline’s vision of expanding global connectivity.

The 312-seat aircraft is configured with 26 business class seats and 286 economy seats, offering enhanced comfort and modern amenities.

During a media tour, Dr. Onyema described the acquisition as a “pivotal milestone” in the airline’s growth trajectory, noting that the aircraft will be deployed in the next two months for inaugural long-haul flights from Abuja to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

He also disclosed plans for new routes to European cities, South America, particularly São Paulo, Brazil, and the Caribbean, building on Air Peace’s existing services to Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis.

Onyema restated the airline’s commitment to providing Nigerians with affordable international travel options and reducing the high fares traditionally charged by foreign carriers.

He also called for an efficient hub system in Nigeria to strengthen regional and international connectivity.

The Air Peace Chairman expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for policies that support indigenous airlines, and commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Senator Festus Keyamo, for initiatives enabling Nigerian carriers to compete on the global stage.
