April 04, (THEWILL) – Senate President Godswill Akpabio has dismissed as false and provocative the allegation by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan that he was plotting her assassination, describing the claim as a dangerous fabrication.
Akpabio’s response followed Natasha’s public allegation during a gathering in Kogi State on April 1, 2025, where she claimed that the Senate President had enlisted former Governor Yahaya Bello in a plot to eliminate her.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio condemned the accusation, branding it not only “outrageous” but also “a calculated attempt to mislead the public and incite unrest.”
The Senate President said, “This latest claim is not only false but a dangerous and provocative fabrication.
“Her recurring pattern of false accusations, including similar claims in 2019 and 2023 against other public figures, reveals a troubling exploitation of victimhood narratives for personal and political gain.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and the democratic process, adding that he would not be distracted by what he termed “malicious falsehoods or inflammatory rhetoric.”
“As a statesman devoted to national unity and democratic values.
“I refuse to be drawn into the theatre of falsehood and incitement,” Akpabio said.
The Senate President urged the public to disregard what he described as baseless claims aimed at distorting the political atmosphere.
