September 25, (THEWILL) — The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has congratulated Governor Umo Eno and the people of the state on the 38th anniversary of its creation, pledging renewed commitment to peace and security.
In a goodwill message to mark the anniversary, the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, said the state’s progress, over nearly four decades, is a product of resilience, unity, and purposeful leadership.
He described Akwa Ibom as a “beacon of progress and development”, whose success story has been anchored on peace and security.
According to him, the Police Command takes pride in being part of the transformation journey of Akwa Ibom, noting that the relative stability enjoyed in the state has provided a foundation for growth in various sectors. He stressed that maintaining public order remains the force’s top priority.
“The Akwa Ibom State Police Command remains unwavering in its commitment to protecting lives and property, and also ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens and residents”, CP Azare said in the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John.
He further acknowledged the cooperation of the State Government and residents, describing their support as pivotal in crime prevention and effective policing. He assured that the Command will continue to strengthen community-police relations for better service delivery.
While commending past and present leaders for their roles in the state’s development, the Police Commissioner prayed for sustained peace, prosperity, and greater achievements in the years ahead. He urged citizens to remain law-abiding as they celebrate the anniversary.
Akwa Ibom State, created on September 23, 1987, by the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida, marked its 38th anniversary on Tuesday, with commemorative events across the state.
