January 19, (THEWILL) — The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups threatening protests over the arrest and prosecution of Princess God’sown Udoito, declaring that the matter is already before a court of competent jurisdiction.
The police cautioned that any attempt to intimidate, influence, or disrupt the judicial process through threats or lawless conduct would not be tolerated.
In a statement released on Monday, January 19, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, emphasized that the force operates strictly within the law and respects due process.
The Commissioner reiterated that the arrest and prosecution of the suspect followed a thorough investigation and were carried out in line with extant legal provisions.
While acknowledging the constitutional right to lawful expression and peaceful assembly, the police warned that the command would deal decisively with any acts capable of breaching public peace or morality.
Specifically, the statement noted that the command will not tolerate threats of nude protests, the unlawful occupation of facilities, or the disruption of government and economic activities.
Any individual or group found engaging in such conduct will be promptly arrested and prosecuted.
The police advised aggrieved parties to pursue their grievances through legal and civil channels and allow the courts to determine the matter rather than resorting to actions capable of escalating tension.
The command reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining order and protecting property, urging members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding to preserve the prevailing peace in Akwa Ibom State.
