Ambassador Maureen Tamuno Bestowed Yeye Folagboyero Of Owo Kingdom

December 29, (THEWILL) – Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL), has been bestowed with the prestigious traditional title of Yeye Folagboyero of Owo Kingdom.

The Rivers State-born former diplomat was bestowed with the title by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo and paramount ruler of Owo Kingdom, in a traditional ceremony which was held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Olowo Palace in Ondo State.

The chieftaincy ceremony attracted prominent figures across the nation.

Tamuno’s appointment to the title reflects her dedication to the progress of Owo Kingdom and her consistent efforts in fostering unity and development.

Oba Ogunoye, who values her passion for the kingdom’s growth, expressed confidence in her continued positive impact on the Owo people and her role in keeping the spirit of national unity alive.

A seasoned diplomat, Tamuno served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Jamaica and Permanent Representative to the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

During her tenure, she played key roles, including serving as Vice Chairperson of the African Region and being appointed a gender champion on ocean affairs, advocating for gender equality in maritime matters.
