June 11, (THEWILL) – Anchor of Destiny Global Initiative has thrown its weight behind four out of the six pillars of the Federal Government National Youth Agenda: Skill Development & Job Creation, Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship Support and Decision-Making.
The group disclosed this at a landmark edition of the YEEL Initiative (Youth Empowerment and Education in Leadership) in Ebonyi State in Abakaliki at the Geneza hotel.
According to Anchor of Destiny Global, it was a strategic move to empower Nigerian youth and address pressing issues of unemployment, underemployment, and leadership preparedness.
The programme directly impacted over 100 students from Ebonyi State University (EBSU) and Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI)—equipping them with the leadership, communication, and workplace skills that align with Nigeria’s National Youth Policy (NYP 2019–2023) and the Nigerian Agenda 2050.
It has the theme: “My Story, My Power” – Building Resilient, Job-Ready Leaders from Within.
With a bold and relevant theme, “My Story, My Power,” the initiative empowered participants to reframe their personal experiences as stepping stones toward national relevance.
Through practical, skill-based workshops—covering CV and cover letter writing, mock interviews, public speaking, and role-play simulations—students were prepared to actively contribute to Nigeria’s development goals.
“This is not just about surviving university”, said Kaweme Chunga, popularly known as Lady K, founder of Anchor of Destiny Global. “It’s about emerging with purpose—ready to lead, innovate, and serve our nation.
“This is a model ready for replication across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones,” said Lady K, the visionary behind YEEL.
“It delivers measurable results and directly supports the goals of ministries, state governments, and the Presidency’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Together, we can institutionalise YEEL as a national tool for youth readiness, resilience, and responsible leadership.
“Let us raise a generation of youth who do not just seek jobs but create value,” Lady K emphasised.
Anchor of Destiny Global’s YEEL Initiative has made a real impact and real change in the beneficiaries.
“Before YEEL, I didn’t know how to write a CV,” said Sarah, a participant from EBSU. “Now I feel confident applying for jobs and internships. I understand my value.”
Sarah’s story is one of many. Youth participants reported a major mindset shift—from dependency to self-driven action, from confusion to clarity of purpose, and from passivity to preparation for impact.

By investing in youth capacity-building at the grassroots level, this initiative demonstrates what is possible when government, civil society, and universities collaborate for transformation.
The program featured a keynote by Veloria Chimamanda Igweogu and was expertly coordinated by Shalom-Marie Nwodom Ezeagu, alongside a vibrant volunteer team. The success of this edition in Ebonyi State proves that youth-led development can be strategic, cost-effective, and immediately impactful.
In order to enhance an expansion, Anchor of Destiny Global calls on the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Federal Ministry of Education, the NYSC, state governments, and development agencies to partner in scaling the YEEL Initiative nationwide.
This grassroots, high-impact model is an ideal candidate for inclusion in: State-level youth empowerment frameworks, National employment and entrepreneurship interventions, – NYSC Community Development Programs (CDP), – Federal Government’s Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) rollouts.
