February 12, (THEWILL) – Barely twenty-four hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Amos Gwamna Magaji, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), another member representing Koko-Besse/Maiyama Federal Constituency of Kebbi state, Garba Salisu Koko, has defected.
Koko, a two-term rep member, announced his defection from the PDP to the APC in a letter read at plenary on Wednesday, by Reps Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas.
The legislator cited “prolonged and protracted” crisis in the party for his defection.
However, the House Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, opposed the defection.
“It is important to correct the erroneous impression. There is no protracted problem in PDP. The house should implement the constitution by declaring the seat vacant. Let us not continue to set a bad precedent”, he said.
