October 14, (THEWILL) – A two-storey building has collapsed on Amusu Street, in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State.
Although no official statement has been issued, an official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who confirmed the incident, said residents of the building had been evacuated before it caved in on Monday morning.
“I can confirm to you that the incident happened this morning, but there were no casualties. An evacuation already took place before the collapse”, the official said.
On its part, another official of the National Emergency Management Agency, said emergency responders have since arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure safety in the surrounding area.
