February 02, (THEWILL) — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the 73-member Central Coordination Committee for its 2026 National Convention.
The decision was taken by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which constituted the committee to coordinate all activities leading to the national convention.
The Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was named Vice Chairman of the committee, while the Governor of Yobe State and former National Chairman of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, will serve as Secretary.
According to the party, the Central Coordination Committee is responsible for overseeing logistics, security, accreditation, venue arrangements, and inter-agency coordination to ensure a smooth and credible convention.
The committee comprises 73 members drawn from across the party’s leadership, including serving and former governors, ministers, lawmakers, and other key stakeholders, reflecting the APC’s broad national spread.
A statement signed by the APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, noted that details of the inauguration of the committee and timelines for the 2026 National Convention would be announced in due course.
The APC National Convention is expected to be a major internal exercise that will shape the party’s organisational direction ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
