August 15, (THEWILL) – National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Tuesday met with former governor of Rivers State and Minister-designate, Nyesom Wike, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
This is coming amid defection rumour that the immediate-past governor of Rivers under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to dump his party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
While details of the meeting are sketchy, THEWILL reports that the former governor, along with four other governors of the PDP, worked against Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Although Wike has repeatedly denied reports that he was perfecting moves to join the APC, his recent choice by President Bola Tinubu for a ministerial appointment indicated that the former Rivers governor was on his way out from the PDP.
