April 17, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the order of the Kano High Court, restraining Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from parading himself as a member of the party.

THEWILL earlier reported that the Court, in an ex parte order issued on Wednesday, by Justice Usman Malam Na’Abba, affirmed Monday’s suspension of Dr Ganduje by members of Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The court further restrained Ganduje from parading himself as a member of the APC pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

But in a swift reaction on Wednesday, the APC said the order remains “a nullity and of no effect”.

National Legal Adviser, Prof Abdulkarim Kana, who spoke with newsmen at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, maintained that the Kano High Court lacks the jurisdiction to hear a matter from non-card-carrying members of the APC on the affairs of the party.

He alleged that the court order was borne out of a desperate desire by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to undermine the prospects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu getting a second term mandate as reasons for persecuting Ganduje in Kano state.

The party described those who sought the ex-parte motion before Justice Na’Abba on behalf of the Ganduje ward, Dawakin-Tofa Local were not only imposters, but fake persons unknown to the party.

“The Court has no jurisdiction on the issue. The persons who appeared before him are frauds, impersonators. One of the so-called defendants is even here with us in Abuja. The Court has gone too far on this issue,” he said.

“We heard this afternoon that they have gone to court to obtain an unlawful order which cannot be enforced. It was obtained by fraud. The individuals who obtained the order are not APC members. We don’t know them”, he said, while berating Justice Na’Abba for compromising his stance by granting the ex-parte order even without hearing from the APC, APC NWC, APC Kano State Working Committee, and Ganduje who are the respondents on the matter.

Meanwhile, speaking when he received officials of the Kano chapter of the APC at the national secretariat of the party on a solidarity visit on Wednesday, Ganduje thanked the party executive members, and ward officials from Ganduje Ward for dissociating themselves from the purported plot to unseat him as National chairman of the party.

Accusing the Governor Abba Yusuf NNPP led administration in Kano State of masterminding the act, as part of the grand plan to whittle down the electoral fortunes of the APC in Kano State, he wondered why the NNPP would go out of its way to gather imposters in a desperate bid to score political goals.

He also claimed that the machinations against him by the NNPP-led administration were aimed at covering up for their inability to deliver good governance in Kano state.

“In fact, what is happening is that it is an incursion into our political party by the NNPP government of Kano in order to destroy our party. They are so concerned that in their first year in office, they have seen their failures right from the destruction of the economy of Kano state to increased political violence and also the destruction of political morality in Kano state.

“We are battle-ready to take over their government. They are concerned that Kano produces the highest votes. They are so concerned that we will repeat the same feat for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again. We will ensure that in 2027, there is no vacancy for any presidential candidate from Kano and from Nigeria that would win any election.

“They are out to create confusion in our party so that we will not have the courage to take over our government in Kano state. They want to ensure Tinubu does not have the intimidating votes he used to have from Kano state. We will tell them their intentions will fail, that it is impossible, that it is a falsehood.

“I am assuring the President that our party in Kano is solid, it is battle-ready in order to keep the votes for president very high, even the highest in Nigeria.

“We have written to the IGP, the DG DSS who are handling the case because we have their pictures, names, and we know their political leanings. Some of them were captured even wearing kwankwasjyya cap. They were so daft and insensitive that they couldn’t camouflage properly”, he said.
