August 02, (THEWILL) — The Chairman of the Ebonyi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr Jennifer Adibe, has called on security agencies in the state to arrest Kenneth Oziomaeze and Mr Zion Ideh, parading themselves as chairman and secretary, respectively, of the party.
Adibe issued the order over the weekend while responding to the purported emergence of the duo as Chairman and Secretary, also called on unsuspecting members of the public not to fall prey to their antics.
According to her, Kenneth Oziomaeze and Mr Zion Ideh, until they are registered with the party, are not members of ADC, even as she added that the Ebonyi ADC was not against support from NGOs or any coalition partners.
She said, “I still remain the Ebonyi State Chairman of Africa Democratic Congress(ADC), duly elected during Congress. As for Pastor Kenneth Oziomaeze, we don’t know him as an ADC member yet.
“He’s not a member of the party. He has not registered with the party. So I saw the news circulating online where he claimed that he has emerged as chairman.
She implored security agencies to immediately go after them, adding that they are deceiving members of the public.
“I am calling the security agencies to go after these persons who are claiming to be leaders of ADC in Ebonyi State. They are not recognised anywhere. Nobody has directed them to do the same.
“They just went into one hotel and then deceived the people. And from the information I also gathered, they deceived the people who took their pictures. Most of them are here now to testify.
“They deceived them, collected their pictures, and then are now using them to say that these are the people who come here to deceive the state. So these things are false. If there should be anything, it should now come through Congress, which will be by next year.
“In fact, we just came back from the NEC meeting, which was held on 29th July at Abuja. In that meeting, the only thing we did was to dissolve the national leadership, and then the new ones were inaugurated.
She said the ADC in Ebonyi State welcomes all new members, “So like we said, our door is open for any NGOs that are supporting us, any support group. They are all welcome to support the ADC in the state. So the public should be aware of these persons parading themselves as the new exco of ADC in the state.
“The Sunday Opoke, who inaugurated the SEC, was a one-time governorship candidate of YPP and still a member of YPP. He has not registered with ADC.
“So he is not a member of our party, but he is welcome into our party if he wants to join our party. Our door is open, and we have not closed our door for membership registration. So it is open for new entrants who want to join our party.
She warned the public to be wary while dealing with persons who claimed to be ADC leaders in Ebonyi, as she still remains the Chairman.
“So the public should be aware, and the security agencies too, to take note of these criminals who have formed themselves to deceive Ebonyians.
“And anybody dealing with these persons should be wary that they are on their own because they are not the true picture of what they present themselves to be. They are not the leaders of ADC in Ebonyi State, and I still remain the state chairman of ADC in the state.
She added by saying that in the last NEC meeting, what transpired was the formalisation of the emergence of the new leaders at the national level, with a charge to the state chairmen to bring all their members together.
“So the new leadership, led by Distinguished Senator David Mark, also assured all the state chairmen that we are going to work together. He also charged us to go down and get more people into the states. And from what I heard, the Kenneth, what they did, they formed an NGO as a support group to ADC, named the National Coalition Alliance”, she said.
