Atiku Was Termite That Destroyed PDP In 2023 – Ortom

Samuel Ortom

July 13, (THEWILL) — The former governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has described former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as a termite that destroyed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election.

“We thank God that Atiku and his collaborators are leaving the PDP to a faceless ‘Atiku Deceiving Coalition”, saying despite the rigged election in 2023 in Benue State, 2027 will present another opportunity for the electorate to decide.

According to Chief Ortom, in 2027, Benue will have a governor under the platform of the PDP, who will implement the Anti-Open Grazing Prohibition law for Benue people to practice agriculture and live safely.

“Today, it is compromise and killing of Benue people across the senatorial zones. APC should get set to vacate the seat in 2027 in Benue State”, Ortom declared.

While charging delegates to be steadfast to ensure the safety of the land rather than sustaining IDPs in camps, he expressed the hope that the PDP will be stronger in 2027 for the good of Benue state, where people will be better off when the PDP is in charge of the affairs in the state.

In his remarks, the Senate Minority leader, Senator Abba Moro, said PDP is still very strong and intact, even as some persons who felt frustrated for their inability to truncate the system have left to the coalition ADC.

He assured that when the time is right, those decamping will return when they may have failed to realise their dreams elsewhere.

“I have no reason to leave PDP now and in the near future. This is not a social media warfare or talk shop. They will soon discover that PDP is the only way to go”, he stated.

According to Moro, PDP is out to restrategise ahead of the 2027 general election, the result will be overwhelming for all to see and call for unity of purpose.

Earlier, the State PDP chairman, Rt Honourable Ezekiel Adaji, said there is no other party in the country which is as democratic as the PDP, noting that the meeting is to assure members of the party that the said coalition is nothing to write home about.

According to him, apart from former governor, Gabriel Suswam, there is no other serious personality in ADC in Benue State that will pose a threat to the PDP from ousting the Hyacinth Alia-led APC in the state.

He directed ward chairmen of the PDP to forward letters of resignation of members of the party to other political parties to the PDP secretariat for onward transmission to the national office.

In his goodwill message, former governorship aspirant in the 2023 general election, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, said Governor Alia has failed and won’t return to Benue Government House in 2027, while the aspirant for national chairman, Engr Terhide Utaan, assured of their loyalty to the leadership of the party for a better tomorrow.
