According to him, the accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. along the Zaria–Kano highway and involved a DAF Trailer CF95 with registration number KMC 931 ZE, loaded with goods and passengers.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a mechanical fault caused the trailer’s cab hook to break, detaching it from the body and leading to loss of control.

The corpses of the victims have been deposited at Nassarawa Hospital, while the injured were taken to Kura General Hospital for treatment.

Sector Commander CC MB Bature, who visited the scene, commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.

He urged drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations or risk severe sanctions.
