August 15, (THEWILL) — The Ogun State Police Command has deployed personnel in preparation for the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency by-election scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday, saying the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has charged officers to conduct themselves with professionalism, civility and neutrality during the poll.

She said the command, working with other security agencies and additional manpower from Zone 2 Command, Lagos, has put in place robust measures to prevent election-related violence and ensure safety before, during and after the exercise.

Odutola warned that voters must adhere to electoral laws, stressing that campaigns, vote-buying, distribution of flyers and display of political stickers at polling units are prohibited.

Movement in election areas will be restricted from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on election day, she said, adding that patrol vehicles, stop-and-search teams and other operational units will be strategically deployed to guarantee a smooth exercise.

“The command appeals for the cooperation of all voters and warns troublemakers to steer clear of polling units as any attempt to disrupt the process will be met with decisive action,” Odutola added.
