December 05, (THEWILL) — The aviation sector recorded another moment of pride on Wednesday as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, and the Director General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Prof. Charles Anosike, emerged winners of the BusinessDay Excellence in Public Service Award—a prestigious national honour celebrating public officials who exemplify outstanding leadership, innovation, and impactful governance.
A statement signed on Friday by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, disclosed that the award ceremony, held on Wednesday at The Blanc Event Hall in Abuja’s Central Business District, was graced by distinguished personalities from government, industry, and the diplomatic corps.
The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, scheduled to present the awards, was represented by the Director General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Capt. Alex Badeh Jr.
Now in its 7th edition, the Excellence in Public Service Awards drew eminent figures, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim. Other notable honourees included the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yussuf Tuggar, and NiMET DG, Prof. Charles Anosike, were recognised alongside several exceptional public service leaders.
In his remarks, Publisher of BusinessDay, Frank Aigbogun, said the annual award platform celebrates federal ministers, agency chiefs, and public sector figures who embody responsible governance, transparent policy execution, and sustainable institutional development.
