August 13, (THEWILL) – There was joy and celebration in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, as a ball Juggler, Tonye Solomon, continued his attempt to break the Guinness World Record by climbing the most steps while placing a ball on his head.

Popularly called De Boy, Tonye Solomon climbed the highest telecommunication mast belonging to the defunct Nigeria Telecommunication Limited, NITEL, with 149 steps, while balancing a ball on his head, breaking the existing 70 steps

Shortly after performing the feat watched by a cheering crowd of supporters including the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Gentle Emelah and a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Tonye Isenah, Solomon told Radio Nigeria that he was excited to have achieved the mark.

A representative from Guinness World Record (GWR), Mr Chukwuebuka Ezugha, who monitored the process, said a response would be communicated in three weeks.

Speaking, Tonye Solomon, who hails from Okordia Zarama Biseni Rural Development Area of Yenagoa Local Government Area, commended all those who made his dream come true, especially the State Commissioner of Education, Dr Gentle Emelah, Dr Tonye Emmanuel Isenah and Royal FM staff Doctor Fich and his teeming fans.
