Benue Lawmaker Jiji Withdraws From APC Assembly Primaries

May 20, (THEWILL) — The Member representing Logo State Constituency in the 10th Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Jiji, has announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Assembly primaries scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

“This decision followed a series of consultations with my immediate family, political leaders, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Stakeholders, political associates and supporters across Logo State Constituency.”

In a statement signed by his legislative Aide, Mr Christian Terungwa, the lawmaker was quoted saying his decision to withdraw from the primaries was made willingly and in the overall interest, unity, and progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He appreciated party members, supporters, stakeholders, and the people of Logo State Constituency for their encouragement, support, and confidence in his leadership throughout the consultation period.

According to the statement, Prince Jiji further assured party faithful of his continued loyalty and commitment to the APC, while promising to work for the success and victory of the party in the forthcoming general elections.
