Benue PDP

February 27, (THEWILL) – A group under the aegis of the People’s Democratic Party Elders in Benue State have acknowledged the significance of good governance by the All Progressives Congress at the Federal and State levels.

It equally urged the APC to understand that blind alliance does not amount to tangible improvement in the lives of our people elders, by virtue of their wisdom and experience should serve as guardians of truth in the society.

The chairman of G-14 Elders’ Forum, PDP, Benue State, Dr Laha Dzever, who spoke in Makurdi on Thursday, identified insecurity as one of the major challenges in the state.

“The APC Government in the state and at the Federal level should, therefore, concentrate largely on securing the state immediately and purge the state of herders who are responsible for over ninety percent of insecurity in the state now”, Dzever stated.

He emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in governance, lamenting that the recent action taken by the APC-led Government in the state raises serious concerns about its sincerity and integrity.

The PDP leaders chided their APC counterpart in the state for criticising the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, over his position on the purported removal of the Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Maurice Ikpambese, and the suspension of thirteen members of the Benue State House of Assembly.

The group, therefore, implored APC elders to note that the blessing of age, experience, and eldership bestows upon us a responsibility in good words rather than combativeness and to be more measured than vituperative in speech.

Dr Dzever advised those in positions of authority to act with decorum and responsibility to promote genuine development, progress and prosperity for the entire people of Benue State.
