October 31, (THEWILL) – Benue State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resolved to setup a reconciliatory committee aimed at addressing grievances of members, in order to be on same page for unity and progress of the party in the state.
Addressing members at its maiden meeting held at the party Secretariat located along Abdullahi Shelleng Road, Makurdi, on Wednesday, the State chairman, Rt Hon Ezekiel Adaji, stressed the need for unity within the party, especially in the light of recent challenges.
The Chairman emphasised that the strength of the party is anchored on the collective commitment of all party members in the state and beyond.
“To this end, it is our proposal that a reconciliation committee be formed with members across the state to address and amicably resolve all existing grievances amongst us.”
According to Adaji, the initiative was vital for fostering a more cohesive party structure and ensuring that every voice is heard and respected.
In a statement, the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Tim Nyor, quotes the chairman as stressing the importance of commitment and loyalty to the party’s vision, urging all members to remain steadfast in their dedication to the collective goals.
“Unity is our strength, and working together as a united front is crucial for the success of the PDP in Benue State. We are concluding with a renewed commitment to work collaboratively in harmony”, the statement added.
Rt. Hon. Adaji, therefore, charged executive members to secure their party spaces ahead of 2027, beginning from their immediate families, wards, local governments down to the senatorial districts.
He expressed gratitude to the party leader in the state, Chief Samuel Ortom, for his support and Counsels and to the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Morro.
In their separate responses, the PDP Chairman of Konshisha local Government area, Hon. Ane Gwaza, his colleague from Makurdi, Hon Paul Tion and that of Apa, Hon. Abel Aboje, all assured the Chairman of their support, loyalty and cooperation from their various zones.
The party appreciated all members for their active participation in activities and look forward to a stronger, more united PDP in Benue State.
