BEVERLY HILL, October 10, (THEWILL) – The wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari on Monday took a swipe at Nnamdi Kanu, who she accused of taking advantage of her husband’s absence from the country on account of ill health to create a country out of Nigeria.
THEWILL recalls that Buhari had left Nigeria on May 7 this year for medical vacation in the United Kingdom. He returned to Abuja 103 days later. Kanu, who had been operating from his father’s residence at Afara-ukwu in Abia State is the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, which seeks a separatist state.
Speaking at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Aisha declared: “As a result of the president spending several months outside Nigeria, a 40-year-old man who was still living in his father’s house created a state out of a state and that is a major setback for the country and the health sector did not benefit.”
“If somebody like Mr President can spend several months outside Nigeria, then you wonder what will happen to a common man on the street in Nigeria,” she added.
The President’s wife made this remark at the opening of a stakeholders’ meeting on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition, RMNCAH+N. The event was organized by her pet project, Future Assured.
