December 05, (THEWILL) – Governor Hyacinth Alia has described the Benue Investment and Property Company as not just a business entity but a beacon of industrial revival for the state.
The governor made this assertion on Thursday while commissioning the BIPC Polythene and Nylon Factory Nails Limited and the expanded BIPC bread and water factories in Makurdi.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting ventures that align with his developmental goals for Benue State.
Represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Orpin Aluamo, Alia said his administration remains steadfast in fostering an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
“Through deliberate policies, we will continue to pursue initiatives that encourage investment, enhance infrastructure, and foster transparency in governance,” the governor said.
He added that the commissioning of these projects marks a step toward an industrially diverse and economically self-sufficient state.
The governor lauded the BIPC management, led by its Managing Director, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, for their foresight in driving the company’s vision forward.
He noted that the newly commissioned projects reflect a promising future for Benue, one defined by resilience and industrial growth.
In his remarks, Dr. Asemakaha thanked Governor Alia for his unwavering support and commitment to creating a conducive environment for businesses in Benue State.
He highlighted the economic significance of the newly inaugurated projects, noting that they are projected to generate 300 direct jobs and 400 indirect jobs, significantly reducing unemployment in the state.
“Beyond these achievements, we are proud to announce that the BIPC Premium Lager Beer, the first product of the Food Basket Brewery, a subsidiary of BIPC, will be unveiled on December 22, 2024,” Asemakaha revealed.
The initiatives, he added, are designed to stimulate economic growth and improve the overall quality of life for residents of Benue State.
The projects, which include expanded bread and water production as well as a polythene and nylon factory, underscore the government’s drive to position Benue as an industrial hub and enhance its reputation as the “Food Basket of the Nation.”
