May 29, (THEWILL) – The Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Limited, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, says the company needs liquidity of not less than N7 billion to stabilise and drive the industrial revolution it is currently working on to revamp and build a minimum of thirty industries in the state.
Dr. Asemakaha disclosed this on Tuesday, during the official commissioning of the BIPC Bakery and Water Factory, and the unveiling of its flagship products: BIPC Bread, BIPC Water, Emperor Fertilizer, and innovative Motorcycle Hire Purchase Scheme by Governor Hyacinth Alia.
He commended Governor Alia, and the Benue State Government for their unwavering support and belief in the vision of BIPC.
“Your Excellency, your leadership and partnership have been instrumental in bringing these projects to reality. These projects collectively exemplify BIPC’s role as a catalyst for economic stimulation, job creation, and value addition within Benue State.
“BIPC’s mission is the creation of employment opportunities for Benue residents. BIPC’s strategic approach balances high-profile ventures with smaller, impactful projects to ensure a holistic development model,” he said.
According to him, this diversified approach mitigates risks and ensures steady progress across multiple sectors of the economy of the state.
“The BIPC Bakery and Water Factory are strategic short-term initiatives designed to provide high-quality products that meet the needs of our people, create employment opportunities for the youth, and contribute to the overall economic growth of Benue State,” the MD stated.
Asemakaha explained that the BIPC Bread is freshly baked daily, using only the finest and most wholesome ingredients, while the BIPC Water undergoes a rigorous filtration process to ensure purity and freshness.
Speaking on the production of fertilizer, the BIPC MD said: “In line with Your Excellency’s vision to empower Benue farmers and boost agricultural productivity, BIPC has established a state-of-the-art chemical fertilizer blending plant.
“It is my pleasure to present to you our flagship agricultural product. The Emperor Fertilizer is formulated to enhance crop yields and promote healthy soil. The Emperor Fertilizer is poised to revolutionise the agricultural landscape of our state.
“Our Fertilizer is tested and confirmed at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA-Ibadan and Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University Department of Soil Science”.
Dr. Asemakaha said in a bid to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment in the state, the company has introduced a Motorcycle Hire Purchase Scheme, saying research has revealed that commercial motorcycles, commonly known as “Okada”, contribute significantly to employment among youth.
The innovative scheme, according to him, aims to empower young people by providing them with affordable access to motorcycles, paving the way for further expansion into tricycles and cars in the future.
Performing the ceremony on behalf of Governor Hyacinth Alia, the Commissioner for Commence and Industry, Mr. Alumo Orpin, stated that the four projects will generate more than 200 jobs as people who purchase the motorcycles will go a long way in solving their financial problems.
The Commissioner said the achievements of Governor Alia within a short period have endeared him to the people and called for more support for better things to come.
