June 20, (THEWILL) — Brazil national football team produced a dominant first-half display to defeat Haiti national football team 3-0 in their Group C encounter at Lincoln Financial Field, eliminating Haiti from the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Despite Haiti’s disciplined defensive start, Brazil gradually asserted control and punished their opponents with three goals before halftime.
Matheus Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after Brazil finally broke through Haiti’s compact defensive shape. The striker doubled the lead 13 minutes later, finishing clinically to put Carlo Ancelotti’s side firmly in command.
Brazil added a third in first-half stoppage time when Vinícius Júnior found the net after another incisive attacking move.
Vinícius remained a constant threat throughout the contest, using his pace and movement to stretch the Haitian defence and create openings for Brazil’s attack.
Although Brazil eased off after the break and showed less urgency, Haiti were unable to mount a comeback. The South Americans finished with superior expected goals and better attacking efficiency, underlining their control of the contest.
