January 20, (THEWILL) – Donald J. Trump has been sworn in for his second term as the 47th President of the United States of America.
US Chief Justice, John Roberts, administered the oath on Trump at an indoor ceremony held Monday, in Capitol Rotunda, Washington DC. This was immediately followed by that of his Vice President, JD Vance.
Dignitaries at the inauguration ceremony include Argentina’s president, Javier Milei; Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni; the immediate-past US President, Joe Biden, and his vice, Kamala Harris, former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, former UK PM, Boris Johnson; former First Ladies, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton, General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO, Tim Cook and TikTok CEO, Shou Chew.
Also at the inauguration are rappers, Snoop Dogg, Fivio Foreign, Rod Wave, Kodak Black, reggaeton musicians, Justin Quiles and Anuel AA, Nigerian gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, boxer Mike Tyson, UFC champion, Jon Jones, among others.
Born on June 14, 1946, in the New York City borough of Queens as Donald John Trump. He is the fourth of five children to parents, Frederick Christ Trump Sr. and Mary Trump.
Trump’s mother was born in Scotland and emigrated to the United States in 1930. His father was born in New York City, the son of German immigrants.
As a child, Trump displayed behavioral difficulties. “He was a pretty rough fellow when he was small”, his father said. In an effort to instill a sense of discipline, his parents enrolled him at age 13 in the New York Military Academy, north of New York City. Trump reported that he enjoyed the drills and lifestyle, but the academy marked the extent of his involvement with the military. He enrolled in Fordham University in New York City and then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics through Penn’s Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1968.
Trump is a real estate mogul and former reality TV star. The Entrepreneur turned politician had served as US 45th president before he won the re-election as the 47th.
Prior to his political career, the real estate developer took over his father’s middle-income housing business and transformed it into a global luxury brand that now includes hotels, golf courses, and commercial properties.
Trump began his business career while still enrolled in college, investing in Philadelphia real estate. Upon completing his undergraduate education in 1968, he returned to New York and joined his father’s business full time.
In the 1970s, Trump helped expand the business, buying properties outside of New York City in locations such as Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, and California. At the same time, he expressed an interest in expanding the company’s real estate operations closer to home, moving from New York’s outer boroughs and into Manhattan, a traditionally more affluent and “high society” area. By the mid-1970s, the now renamed Trump Organisation had branched into Manhattan skyscrapers.
Trump became a best-selling author with his 1987 book, “The Art of the Deal” and a reality TV star in the 2000s on “The Apprentice”.
