
June 12, (THEWILL) – After about 24 hours with his abductors, the Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna State, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, has regained his freedom.
A palace source confirmed his release but did not speak on whether or not any ransom was paid for the traditional ruler’s release.
THEWILL reports that the bandits had demanded a ransom of N200 million for his release and the rest of his family members abducted along with him.
The source, however, said only the Emir has been released without the 13 family members.
The suspected bandits, who kidnapped Emir demanded a ransom of N200 million.
One of the Kajuru kingmakers disclosed this to newsmen on Monday.
THEWILL reports that the Emir, members of his family and other subjects were kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday from his residence in Kajuru community.
