
November 26, (THEWILL) – The Port Harcourt Refinery has commenced crude oil production.
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, Olufemi Soneye, said on Tuesday.
Soneye also revealed that truckloading operations would begin immediately and assured that efforts were underway to reactivate the Warri Refinery.
“Today marks a monumental achievement for Nigeria as the Port Harcourt Refinery officially commences crude oil processing.
“Truck loading starts today, Tuesday This groundbreaking milestone signifies a new era of energy independence and economic growth for our nation”, Soneye said.
He added that the refinery will operate at 60 percent capacity and process 60,000bpd.
He congratulated President Bola Tinubu, the NNPC Board, and Group CEO Mele Kyari for their dedication to the project, describing it as transformative for Nigeria’s energy future.
