December 15, (THEWILL) — BUA Group has disbursed ₦30 billion to 510 employees at its 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards, making it one of the most significant employee reward initiatives by a Nigerian private sector company.
The ceremony, held in Lagos, honoured staff whose years of service ranged from 5 to over 40 years, recognising long service, loyalty, and outstanding contribution to the growth of the conglomerate. Employees were celebrated across multiple long-service and excellence award categories.
Speaking at the event, the Founder and Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, described the ceremony as a recognition of the people behind BUA’s success. He noted that the company, which started modestly 36 years ago, has grown into one of Nigeria’s most valuable listed groups with a combined market capitalisation in the trillions of naira, a journey he said was driven by dedication rather than capital alone.
Rabiu emphasised that BUA has always regarded its workforce as partners in a shared legacy, adding that loyalty, professionalism, and long-term commitment should be rewarded in tangible ways.
Of the ₦30 billion disbursed, only 41 recipients were presented on stage due to time constraints, representing the highest-value awards ranging from ₦100 million to ₦1 billion. These included sixteen recipients of ₦100 million, nine of ₦200 million, seven of ₦250 million, three of ₦500 million, and five recipients of ₦1 billion. One special award, given in recognition of exceptional loyalty and leadership, had an undisclosed cash value.
The event attracted prominent business and government figures, including Aliko Dangote, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, and Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.
BUA Group said the Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards remain a key part of its corporate culture, reflecting a philosophy centred on shared prosperity, long-term thinking, and respect for its people.
