July 13, (THEWILL) — The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari will be interred on Monday, July 14, 2025, at his hometown in Daura, Katsina State.
Former president Buhari died on Sunday afternoon in London at about 4.30 pm, following a prolonged illness.
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has ordered Vice President Kashim Shettima to proceed to the United Kingdom to accompany Buhari’s body back to Nigeria.
THEWILL reports that Buhari’s body will arrive Nigeria from London on Monday for burial.
The former President was twice elected Nigeria’s President in 2015 and 2023. He also served as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985. He was 82.
