SAN FRANCISCO, January 19, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu‎ Buhari has written to the Senate informing the lawmakers of his intention to embark on a 10-day vacation from Monday, January 23.

‎In the letter read during Thursday’s plenary by the Senate President,  Bukola Saraki, the President disclosed that the vacation would end on February 6, 2017.

The letter added that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo would perform the functions of the President’s office while he is away on the holiday.

“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 constitution as amended, I wish to inform the Distinguished Senate that I will be away n a short medical vacation from Monday January, 23 to February 6th, 2017 and while I am away, the Vice President (Osinbajo) will perform the functions of my office.

“Please, accept, as always assurances of my highest esteemed consideration,” read the letter.

Recall that the President had last year written to the upper legislative chamber to go on vacation from the 6th to 16th of June, 2016.
