February 27, (THEWILL) – Bose Ogulu, the mother of Nigerian music sensation, Damini Ogulu, popularly called Burna Boy, has been nominated for Manager of the Year at the 2025 Music Week Awards.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, with Ogulu competing against top industry names in the highly competitive category, including Alistair Goldsmith, Neil Hughes, and Wes Banton.
The Music Week Awards recognise excellence in the global music industry, with winners determined through a combination of peer voting and an independent panel of judges.
This year’s Music Week Awards is scheduled for May 8, at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, United Kingdom.
THEWILL recalls that Mrs Ogulu previously won the Manager of the Year at the 2022 Artist & Manager Awards in London.
As a linguist, business strategist, and co-founder of the Spaceship Collective, Mrs Ogulu has played a pivotal role in Burna Boy’s rise to global stardom and the expansion of Afrobeats on the international stage.
Bose built a successful career as a translator for the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and is proficient in English, French, German, Italian, and Yoruba.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and a Master of Arts in Translation from the University of Port Harcourt, she is from a family deeply rooted in arts and culture.
Bose Ogulu is the daughter of Nigerian music critic from Edo State, Benson Idonije, who managed Fela Kuti.
