December 16, (THEWILL) – A former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has said there exists a powerful cabal in President Bola Tinubu’s government who are more dangerous and sophisticated than those in any previous government.
THEWILL recalls that Tinubu had at a meeting with a delegation of Islamic leaders at Aso Rock villa on July 26, dismissed the existence of any cabal in his government.
“I have no cabal. I have no sponsors. The money I spent on the elections was my fortune.
“ At some point, the odds were against me; banks were locked. But Allah, the Almighty God, said I will be the President. Mine is to now follow the leading and teaching of the Almighty God,” he said.
But speaking in an interview on the ‘Mic On’ podcast with journalist, Seun Okinbaloye, Dalung insisted that a class of powerful cabal has shielded the President from prevailing realities and ward off anyone trying to bring him up to speed.
Declaring he is not afraid of death and has survived ten assassination attempts, Dalung described the cabal in Tinubu’s government as a sophisticated group of well-informed dangerous people who have been long in power.
Drawing a comparison between those in Tinubu’s government and President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Dalung described the cabal in the latter’s government as uninformed people with little experience.
He stated, “Cabal exists in Nigeria’s presidency till today.
“Tinubu has the most sophisticated cabal, worse than Buhari.
“Buhari’s cabal was a group of uninformed people with little experience, which was why they were dipping their hands in everything available, but Tinubu’s cabal is a sophisticated group of people who have been long in power, they know the power, and they are also informed.
“So they are more dangerous than any other cabal that I’ve ever known and seen.”
