December 27, (THEWILL) – The Catholic Priest of Nnewi Diocese, Anambra State, Rev. Fr Tobias Chukwujekwu Okonkwo, has been killed by unidentified gunmen.
A statement signed on Friday, by Rv fr Rapheal Ezeogu, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, said Fr Okonkwo was shot dead on Thursday, December 26, along Owerri-Onitsha Expressway between the hours of 7 pm and 8 pm.
Until his death, Fr Okonkwo was a pharmacist and priest in charge of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala, in Anambra State.
Born August 11, 1984, the late clergyman is a native of Ekwulumili in Nnewi South Local Government.
