March 26, (THEWILL)- A Kano High Court, sitting in Miller Road, has convicted and sentenced a Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong, to death by hanging for killing his girlfriend in Kano in 2022.
THEWILL recalls that Geng-Quangrong was arrested and remanded by the police for culpable homicide in September 2022, over the murder of his 22-year-old girlfriend, Ummukulsum Buhari, at her residence in Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso LGA of Kano.
The prosecution had said the offence contravened the provision of Section 221(b) of the Penal Code Law.
Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji, in a ruling on Tuesday, found the accused guilty of the offence.
Geng-Quangrong was consequently convicted and sentenced to death by hanging till he breathed his last.
